Shop / jed pool tools vinyl pool repair kit
At Pool Above, we are obsessed with providing the best possible repair solution for your inflatables. We understand that the key to effective patching lies in the use of compatible materials. This is why we deliberately destroy perfectly good products to create our patch kits. Our repair kit is designed to work effectively for most vinyl pool liner repairs.
To begin the repair process, thoroughly clean the surface to be patched using a vinyl surface cleaner. Cut the patch to be larger than the damaged area, ensuring rounded corners to prevent peeling. For light gauge vinyl and inflatable pools, apply the adhesive sparingly to the patch, covering it evenly. For heavy gauge vinyl and pool liners, apply the adhesive more liberally.
If repairing the patch out of the water, apply it to cover the damaged area, taking care to press out any air bubbles. If possible, apply weight to the patch and allow 24 hours for it to reach full bond strength. For underwater repairs, keep the patch folded onto itself over the area to be repaired, then unfold and apply immediately. Carefully press out all air bubbles, and if possible, apply weight to the patch and allow 24 hours for it to reach full bond strength.
If the damaged area is on a seam, it's recommended to add an additional bead of glue to the seam before applying the patch.
The repair process can be broken down into four simple steps:
STEP 1: Find the damaged area and clean it thoroughly. STEP 2: Ensure the patch is larger than the damaged area, with rounded edges. Trace the patch around the damaged area. STEP 3: Apply a layer of glue within the traced area, allow it to become tacky, then apply a second layer and immediately apply the patch. STEP 4: Allow 24 hours for the glue to completely dry. If needed, weight the patch on a flat surface.
